What's the difference between a Flight Experience and a First Lesson
Updated over 5 months ago

We make it easy to book online and you can choose between a Flight Experience or a First Lesson. Let's look at the differences between the two

Flight Experience

This is a 45 minute flight that is ideal as a taster session for those looking to see if flight training is something they'd like to continue, or just as a one off experience.

On a Flight Experience people are with a trained instructor so they are able to take control as much or as little as they like. You can enjoy the view or get hands on training, or a bit of both.

The Flight Experience is a lesson on the Private Pilot Licence syllabus, so it can count towards a Private Pilot Licence if you choose to continue.

First Lesson

This is your first official lesson with us, so it's a little longer at an hour of training. We ask that you allow 2 hours with us to give us time to complete the briefings and documentation as required.

You'll meet your instructor who will get you set up on our training system, you'll then get a briefing on the first training flight. As you are now starting the Private Pilot Licence you'll get to see more of what goes into prepping an aircraft for flight, observing the checks taken before taking off.

In the air you'll complete a few exercises, if you've flown with us before we'll continue on to different exercises. If it's your first time we'll start from the start.

You don't have to complete a Flight Experience before your first lesson, but if you do it's easy for us to add your time flown towards the Private Pilot Licence minimum hours requirement.

Going forward

Continuing on with your training is easy, we can book you in for a lesson when you are at Fife Flight Centre or you can get in touch with our team directly via live chat, email or telephone. We'll get in touch to find out what next steps you'd like to take.
